Technical Superintendent (LNG)

Faststream Recruitment is partnering with a well-established international shipping company to recruit a Technical Superintendent (LNG) based in Singapore.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and cost-effective technical operation of LNG vessels, working closely with vessel crews, internal stakeholders and external service providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the technical management, maintenance and operational performance of assigned LNG vessels.
• Plan and coordinate dry-docking, repairs, surveys and major maintenance activities.
• Monitor vessel performance, machinery reliability and planned maintenance systems (PMS).
• Manage technical budgets, operating expenditure and cost optimisation.
• Ensure compliance with class, flag state, statutory and company requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to onboard engineering teams.
• Work closely with marine, HSSEQ, procurement and crewing departments to ensure efficient vessel operations.

Requirements

• Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (COC) with LNG sailing experience – mandatory.
• Previous shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent or in a similar technical management capacity is highly preferred.
• Open to LNG Chief Engineers with a minimum of 2 years sailing as C/E on LNG.
• Strong technical knowledge of LNG propulsion systems, cargo-related machinery, maintenance and vessel operations.
• Sound understanding of dry-docking, class requirements, technical budgets and regulatory compliance.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
